Right-Click Feedback for Writing Assessments in the ELL Social Studies Classroom
This session is ideal for secondary English, social studies, or ELL teachers who regularly use Doctopus and Goobric in a Google Classroom driven classroom, and are looking for time-efficient strategies to assess and provide feedback in writing assessments. This session will focus on the interaction of the Google Chrome extension "Chrome Clipper," which can be used to create right-click context menu lists to paste pre-made text. By using Chrome Clipper in combination with Google Docs’ comment system and deliberately aligned best-practice rubrics, teachers can immediately provide consistent, specific, and elaborated feedback for most common writing errors, misconceptions, and p-prims, while still having time at night to catch the new Game of Thrones and hit the gym.

Feedback that Inspires Learning with Google Docs and Forms
Looking for ways to speed up your turn-around time with assignments while simultaneously increasing the value of your feedback? This presentation is for you. In this session you will learn how to leave comments on Google Docs that include links, videos, and follow-up assessments with a couple keystrokes. You'll also learn how to build Google Forms that can be used as formative assessments that reteach during the assessment process, not after. Throughout the session, you'll also be able to discuss some of the research and theories behind effective feedback and how technology allows to do the things we've always wished you could do when it comes to assessment and feedback. Teachers who will benefit most from this session will have a basic understanding of Google Docs and Forms and at least occasionally have written assessments in their classroom.
